crayon rocks!
Favored by occupational therapists especially for use with kids developing fine motor skills, these are a hit with lots of teachers, parents and kids. Made in the U.S. of soy wax (a renewable resource unlike standard petroleum-based crayons), they transfer to paper in a smoother way, slightly more like painting.
A student box of 16 colors costs $5 or splurge on a box of 64 (4 each of 16 colors) for $18. Find them at Crayon Rocks.

back from the poconos!
john, kaley, rachel and i spent sat and sun camping in promised land state park in the poconos. we had 2 tents on site #448 right by the bathroom facility.
it was nice and cool- and there were absolutely no bugs which was awesome!
the girls and john did a lot of fishing (when it was not raining), and i read half of "into the wild"

22 weeks pg
Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop.

21 weeks pg
Baby gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for hydration and nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies are most interested in tastes they've already experienced through amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you want your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch.
